PROJECT 1 - DESIGNING A POSTER

The project consists designing a poster about the different school system around the world. First of all, we have selected the topic for work, the education system. Secondly, we have made a comparative between Spain and Finland. Later, we have collected all the important information about the topic. Finally, we have elaborated an infographic with the Piktochart program.  

On the one hand, the characteristics of the school system in Finland are:

o   Children in Finland have to go to school from 7 to 16.

o   The school and the teachers decide the education system.

o   They use the communicative method, where the children have to develop the creativity, curiousity and the experimentative part of their own personality.

o   They don’t have to go to school in fixed hour because they can choose their own timetable.

o   The children are not evaluated by numeric result, because they are evaluated by an inform that explains their progress.

o   Only the 0.2% of the children leave the school.

o   In the school canteen the children can decide about their own food and drink. For drink they can decide in between water and milk. For food they can choose vegetables, fish, bread or potatoes.

o   All the things that students need for their education are free for all the levels, included the registration, materials and school canteen.

On the contrary, in Spain the characteristics are:

o   Children have to go to school from 6 to 16.

o   The government design the laws that education system is regulated by.

o   In Spain works the traditional education system where the children only have to memorize the contents of the subject.

o   There are two fixed timetables so the parents can decide if their sons go to school in short working day or split shift.

o    Children are evaluated by periodic exams about the subjects.

o   There are an elevated rate of drop out, about 30%.

o   The students can’t decide about their menu.

o   The families have to pay all the costs of education, included the registration. There are only exceptuated about the taxes the children who have given the scholarship.
